This article analyzes a specific bottleneck in the editorial workflow of the Technical-Scientific Materials Editing and Production Area at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA): the recurrent publication of errata caused by incorrect information submitted by the authors themselves. This is a qualitative, exploratory, and applied research, conducted as a case study with document analysis of published errata and the submission process. As a solution, this study proposes the development of an author guide/checklist with standardized instructions for submitting materials in open and editable formats, with prior verification. It is expected that the implementation of this instrument will reduce rework, improve communication, and enhance editorial quality.
