The involvement of graduate students in editorial activities has proven to be an essential strategy for developing more critical, autonomous, and academically prepared professionals. In the field of nursing, this experience gains relevance due to the need to strengthen national and regional journals, as exemplified by the Graduate Program in Nursing and Health at the Federal University of Bahia, which encourages student participation in a nursing journal based in Bahia. This experience includes manuscript review, editorial meetings, supervised evaluations, scientific dissemination, and thematic planning, enabling the development of technical, editorial, and leadership skills. Beyond fostering innovation, belonging, and collaborative networks, such practice enhances institutional visibility and contributes to early professionalization.
