Analysis of the author profile in the RECI: indicators of endogamy, representativeness, and scientific reach (2011–2024)

This study performed an analysis of the author profile of the Revista de Epidemiologia e Controle de Infecção between 2011 and 2024. This was a descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative bibliometric study. This period covers the entire history of the journal and showed that this publication has an extensive regional diversity, with all states of the country represented. There is a predominance of authors from the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions, along with some publications from foreign authors. The majority of articles were authored by women, and there was a low rate of endogamy. This demonstrates the editorial maturity and the pursuit of quality and diversity in the journal's publications.
