Open Science and the SciELO Indexing Criteria

This is a qualitative and descriptive study. Its objective is to present the classification of SciELO criteria according to the dimensions of Open Science. Using Fachin’s (2025) tool, which supports the analysis of SciELO criteria, 385 criteria were identified, classified into three categories: Evaluative, Informative, and Mandatory. Based on the explanation presented, it was possible to verify that the tool can be an ally in developing and maintaining the strategic planning of journals wishing to be included in the SciELO collection, an open access database of excellence. Indexers can be considered quality seals for scientific journals, representing their quality and influencing their visibility within the scientific community.
